McCook Public Power District

McCook Public Power District has been in operation for 76 years; our system was organized July 16, 1935.  MPPD is owned by the people and businesses we serve.

We have 27 employees with an average of 18 years of service.  There are 7 board of directors who meet every third Tuesday of each month.

MPPD services approximately 2,800 square miles in parts of 6 counties which include Frontier, Red Willow, Hitchcock, Lincoln, Hayes and Gosper.  Our service area consists of 2,511 miles of line and 13 substations feeding 4,762 services.

MPPD provides almost 3 times the miles of line per customer as the average rural electric in the United States and our cost of kWh's sold is 35% less than the average system.  We feel these statistics prove that Nebraska's public power system works and the MPPD Board of Directors, management, and employees have done their part in keeping electric rates competitive.

In addition to keeping our rates as low as possible, MPPD prides itself in personal service.  We strive to keep in touch with our customers and encourage them to contact us whenever they have a question or concern of any kind.

Safety is without a doubt our biggest concern with our customers and employees.  PLEASE don't take chances with electric.  If you see a line down, a damaged meter or other equipment that doesn't look right, STAY AWAY and call us at 1-800-658-4285 or 308-345-2500 as soon as possible.
